Support Boston Sea Rovers Dive Show March 8 & 9

Posted Feb. 19, 2008

Scuba Shack will be represented at the Boston Sea Rovers Dive Show this March. The program will be held on March 8 & 9 and is a great local opportunity to enjoy guest speakers, workshops and the Saturday evening Film Festival.

This year, we're asking the Scuba Shack staff and customers to stop by our booths to thank Casey McKinley for coming up to Boston to meet local divers. Last July, Casey was one of the divers who - after 17 years of diver exploration - worked with the Woodvill Karst Plain Project (WKPP) to discover the link between Wakulla Springs and Leon Sinks in central Florida.

Casey is one of the guest speakers on Sunday morning (11:30 a.m. in the Venetian Room) and we're certain you'll find the presentation enjoyable. If you have any interest in long-range Florida cave diving, this is the guy you want to meet.

For the diving professionals, PADI will be sponsoring Member Forum 2008 at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 7 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza.

We look forward to seeing you at the show, which will also include the staff from Brownstone Park and the Northeast Underwater Explorers. Tickets are available at Scuba Shack, and we'll do our best to hook up those interested in car-pooling from the Hartford area.

From the Boston Sea Rovers Web site:

For more than 50 years the Boston Sea Rovers have educated the public about the underwater world. Every March, the annual Sea Rovers Clinic in Boston raises the awareness of everyone who attends about the amazing world under our earth’s waters. There is something at the clinic for everyone; sport divers, educators, students, professional divers, environmentalist, travelers, kids, photographers, and anyone interested in what is happening beneath the waves of the world’s oceans, lakes and rivers.

The fifty-fourth clinic which will take place March 8 & 9, will be one of the best ever with presentations as diverse as the many experts presenting them. Saturday night includes a world famous film festival that includes both video and still images from places few ever get to visit.
