In general, programs that Scuba Shack offers do not include required materials in the cost of tuition. There are many reasons that we do not include them.

• Many people buy the materials as gifts for other divers.
• For youth programs, parents may choose to buy the materials for their children first. Once the kids have completed the required reading and homework assignments, parents can be assured that their children really are interested in scuba diving. Parents and kids then take the next step to enroll in the class and purchase personal gear - mask, snorkel, fins & boots.
• Families & friends may share DVDs for all programs. If a family is taking the open water course together, each student does need their own text book, workbook, logbook and dive tables, but they may share a DVD.
